Radiant Heating Systems Help Keep Home Warm and Safe |
||
Throughout the United States, more people each year are constructing new homes, building additions, finishing basements and remodeling their existing homes using radiant heating products for floor warming and melting snow. And. like the rest of the nation, more and more Utahns are enjoying the comforts, savings and other benefits of radiant heat and snow melting. During the month of May, Salt Lake City will be the host city for members of the international Radiant Panel Association, an annual conference to showcase new products and recognize industry leaders. During the conference, the world's best and most innovative radiant heating companies will compete for top honors in the Project Showcase, as well as present their latest radiant heating products. Heatizon Systems, a Salt Lake City-based manufacturer of radiant heat and snow melting products, has received notification from the association that one of its projects - The Conference Center - was selected as a finalist in the 2001 Systems Showcase Competition. Heatizon Systems was the supplier and Heatizon RMC was the contractor for a snow melt system under 20,000 square feel of granite pavers that ran around a building. "We are honored to be a finalist again this year," says Jack Lucas of Heatizon Systems. "This brings more national attention not only to our portfolio of radiant heating products, but also to the new conference center." Steve Bench, also of Heatizon Systems. says that the staff "is optimistic that we will once again take home the first place trophy, as we have done for each of the past four years for some of our other projects." Heatizon Systems manufacturers a complete product line of low-voltage radiant heating products. The company manufactures both indoor products, which warm the floor of a bathroom or kitchen, or heat an entire basement or home, and outdoor products that melt snow and ice from driveways, walkways and roofs. Placed under hard flooring, such as tile, marble, slate, granite and hardwood floors, the floor warming and space heating systems will keep floor surfaces warm and comfortable during the coldest months. Steve Love, owner of the Hidden Springs Resort Ranch, located in the hills east of Nephi, chose to heat his entire 7,000 square feet of hardwood floors with Heatizon's products. "Our guests absolutely love walking around in their stocking feet, just to feel the warmth," Love says. "In the mornings, when they get out of bed or step out of the shower, it is so nice when their bare feel meet warm, comfortable floors instead of a cold surface. "I feel it is one of the best investments I've made and the level of customer satisfaction my guests have enjoyed is a bonus." Heatizon snow melting and roof deicing products can be used to reduce or eliminate snow build-up on roofs, keep icicles from forming on the edge of the roof, and prevent ice damming problems. Unlike other roof snow and ice melting products that are installed on top of the roof, Heatizon's systems are installed under the shingles, making it virtually invisible. Driveway and walkway snow-melting products are popular in the Utah market. Heatizon's system is among the most durable on the market and can be installed in either new or existing concrete, existing asphalt or under pavers. Utah's TRAX light rail used Heatizon's snow melting products keep all of the passenger station access ramps clear and snow free during the winter. Deann Elgren of Sandy has had a Heatizon snow melting system at her home for more than eight years. "I have a lot of steps leading up to my home and it's nice not having to worry about slipping on the ice and snow," she said. "We also have a long driveway that's on a hill, so we really do need it in the winter." Lucas, Cy Sherwood and John Thomas of Heatizon, along with Heatizon manufacturer representatives and distributors, are responsible for marketing Heatizon Systems products throughout the United States, Canada, Japan, and wherever cold spots need to be warmed. |
