So you're asking yourself... "How can I enjoy an automatic snow melting system on my driveway without pulling out the jackhammer?" Well, we have retrofit applications for driveway snow melting, sidewalk snow melting, or any other asphalt or concrete snow melting applicationl. Tuff Cable or Hott-Wire can be used for our retrofit snow melting and ice melting applications and has been engineered to meet the quality of a new pour concrete or newly asphalted surface without the expense of tearing it out.

A radiant snow melting system can't claim to be safe, efficient, or reliable unless there is a way to monitor it 24/7 so we developed systems that do that. Because storm conditions outside are hard to predict as well, Heatizon has developed weather sensing and activation technologies that produce effective results, save energy and cut costs.

| Snow Melting Retrofit |
Tuff Cable or Hott-Wire can be retrofit in existing asphalt or concrete by saw cut.
Any amount of coverage can be achieved from tire tracks to complete areas or just a convenient path to melt snow.
A wet saw is used to cut the grooves. When cutting is finished a power washer is used to clean the grooves and surface from rocks and debris.
After the heating element is placed in the saw cuts a backer rod insulation is placed over the top and finally special caulk is placed over the heating element into grooves.
Different surface caulks are used for Asphalt and Concrete and made for each specific application.
Retrofit in Concrete - Tire tracks are a common way to make a steep driveway functional in the winter time.
Retrofit in Asphalt
Retrofit in Asphalt - Curves and turns are achievable with a retrofit installation.
