Should GutterMelt be used alone, or paired with a roof deicing system?

GutterMelt is recommended for use in conjunction with a roof deicing system such as ZMesh or Tuff Cable in Invizimelt. GutterMelt protects gutters and downspouts, but meltwater coming off a roof still needs somewhere to go — pairing GutterMelt with an under-roof or surface deicing system ensures water has a clear path off the building rather than just clearing the gutters in isolation.
